the Baker
Chan Shelly
After completing 20 years of dedicated service in the U.S. Navy, Chan Shelly retired in September 2020 and embarked on a new journey following her true passion: baking.
Drawing inspiration from cherished Southern childhood cooking memories, Chan founded Hey Sugar Sweets in 2021. With encouragement from friends and family who had long enjoyed her delicious creations, she transformed her love for baking into a thriving business.
Chan continues to infuse her creations with the same dedication and passion that drove her to achieve her dreams—both in military service and in bringing sweet joy to the community.
